            ਹਿੱਟਲਰ ਨੇ ਧਿਆਨ ਚੰਦ ਨੂੰ ਜਰਮਨੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਖੇਡਣ ਦੀ ਪੇਸ਼ਕਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਡਾ ਅਹੁਦਾ ਦੇਣ ਦਾ ਲਾਲਚ ਵੀ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਪਰ ਧਿਆਨ ਚੰਦ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਭਾਰਤ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਖੇਡਣਾ ਹੀ ਆਪਣਾ ਗੌਰਵ ਸਮਝਿਆ

ਉੱਤਰ - ਮੇਜਰ ਨੇ ਹਾਕੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਈ ਮੀਲ-ਪੱਥਰ ਗੱਡੇ ਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਖੇਡ ਕੈਰੀਅਰ ਵਿਚ ਲੱਗਭਗ 1000 ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਗੋਲ਼ ਕੀਤੇ। 400 ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਅੰਤਰਾਸਟਰੀ ਪੱਧਰ ਤੇ ਵੱਖ ਵੱਖ ਦੇਸ਼ਾ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਕੀਤੇ। ਜਿਸ ਕਾਰਨ ਸਮੇ-ਸਮੇ ਤੇ ਮੇਜਰ ਧਿਆਨ ਚੰਦ ਉ ਫੌਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਤਰੱਕੀ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਰਹੀ। 

ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਨ 6. ਮੇਜਰ ਧਿਆਨ ਚੰਦ ਦੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਬਾਰੇ ਦੱਸੋ ?

ਉੱਤਰ - ਮੇਜਰ ਧਿਆਨ ਚੰਦ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ 29 ਅਗਸਤ 1905 ਵਿਚ ਅਲਾਹਾਬਾਦ ਪਿਤਾ ਸਮੇਸ਼ਵਰ ਦੱਤ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਹੋਇਆ।ਧਿਆਨ ਚੰਦ ਦੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਤੇ ਵੱਡਾ ਭਰਾ ਰੂਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਵੀ ਹਾਕੀ ਦੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਉਘੇ ਖਿਡਾਰੀ ਸਨ। ਇਸ ਤਰਾਂ ਧਿਆਨ ਚੰਦ ਨੂੰ ਹਾਕੀ ਵਿਰਾਸਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਿਲੀ।
